On Tuesday the MXA wrecking crew drove north to Zaca Station MX Park for the new Shoei helmet intro, while there MXA’s Daryl Ecklund took the opportunity to wring out the 2018 Yamaha YZ125 two-stroke (while Spencer Owens warm up on his Canon).

Shoei was ready to reveal their new helmet with everything from a Monday night presentation and Tuesday ride day at Zaca.

MXA was testing bikes for a future issue. This time Daryl Ecklund put in some laps on our 2018 Yamaha YZ250 two-stroke.

On Thursday the whole MXA gang convened at Glen Helen Raceway for the first test rides on the 2018 KTM 125SX and 250SX two-stroke. We got there at 6:45 a.m. (before the track opened to the public) and didn’t leave until 3;00 p.m. It was a busy day.

MXA’s videographer Travis Fant never stopped moving and shot video of the 9 bikes that MXA brought with us on Thursday.

Nice guys that we are, we had MXA test rider Justin Muscutt break-in a 2018 Kawasaki KX85 for Kawasaki—even though it was going to another magazine.

KTM’s David O’Connor fiddles with a 2018 KTM 150SX, while Jody Weisel tries to figure out how to use a fork pump with one hand (note the cast on his left arm). Meanwhile Dennis Stapleton and Husqvarna’s Anthony Da Graca compare callouses.

Dennis Stapleton and Jon Ortner spent all day testing different length Ride Engineering shock linkages on our 2018 Suzuki RM-Z450.

The famous Greg Groom (right) stopped by for suspension help on his 2018 RM-Z450 from Jody, while Dunlop’s Jay Clark kibbitzed from the sidelines.

When David O’Connor and Anthony Da Graca came up to Zaca Station on their day off, Jon Ortner shot a few photos of the KTM and Husqvarna PR mechanics blasting a berm. This is David.

This is Anthony da Graca stylin’ on on his Husqvarna FC250 for Jon Ortner’s camera.

The head man at Zaca Station is Ed Guajardo. He is an established World Vet racer and great track owner. Did we mention how relaxed he is?

On Saturday morning the MXA gang is off to the 5th Annual Kurt Caselli Ride Day at Glen Helen. This is a photo of lifelong friends Daryl Ecklund (83) and Kurt Caselli (43) having fun for an MXA bike test a few years ago.
