In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

It’s great to see the career renaissance Josh Grant has experienced in the last year. Not that long ago it seemed like Grant, one of the most talented people to ever twist the throttle on a motocross machine, was finished as a professional racer. When TwoTwo Motorsports closed shop he missed the start of the 2016 season, then showed up aboard a privateer Suzuki at the Daytona SX and stunned the field with a seventh place finish at one of the most difficult rounds of the schedule. Since then, JG33 has landed a full-time ride with Monster Energy Kawasaki and over the last few weeks has run near the front of the pack, including this past weekend at Hangtown. Grant’s just a few weeks away from his thirty-first birthday, and with this Kawasaki contract plus a desire to compete, there’s no doubt that he’ll be around for a while longer.

Racing has done a number to Grant’s health and personal life, something that he’s outlined a few times with various media pieces and in the cover feature from our September 2016 magazine, but it’s also become a reason for being thanks to the motorcycle obsession shared by his two young sons. It’s good to have Grizz on the starting gate…
