In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
Supercross is only a few short weeks away, and I am pumped! I know that it gets said each and every year, but the field is absolutely stacked in the 450 class and it looks like several different riders could enjoy turns on the top of the podium. As always, sadly, injuries will play a significant role in the final outcome of the championship, and the consistent performers like Weston Peick will rise upward in the championship point standings.
Only several weeks ago, Peick didn’t know if he had a ride for 2017 and beyond, as he had heard no word from the JGR Race Team about returning to the squad. With the team’s recent surprise switch to Suzukis, it’s now understandable why communication went silent for a bit. We’re glad to see Peick return to the team as he has always been one of the most underrated competitors in the field. We’ve long been aware of Peick’s skill and speed on the bike as he is one of our SoCal local boys, and it’s always nice to see him running at the front of the pack.
We’ve seen Peick in action aboard his new Suzuki RM-Z450 at Lake Elsinore MX Park and Milestone MX Park’s public Supercross tracks, and thus far he looks plenty comfortable on his new steed. Here’s to a great 2017, Weston!
