With Tyler Bowers on the sidelines for the near future due to a fractured femur, the 51Fifty Energy Yamaha team has tapped Noah McConhay to ride the YZ250F for the 2017 Oakland SX round of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series. McConhay has raced the first rounds of the 250 West Coast SX season aboard a JMC Motorsports-backed Husqvarna 250 FC and finished in thirteenth place in the last two main events (Anaheim Two and Phoenix).

The 51Fifty Energy Yamaha team has had somewhat tough go in the early part of the 2017 season. Hayden Mellross had to drop of out of the Anaheim One main event due to a mechanical issue while running near the front of the field,  suffered a hand injury at Anaheim Two, and sat out Phoenix to recovery. Tyler Bowers, meanwhile, struggled to match the speed of the front-runners at the first two races, improved at Anaheim Two, then suffered his injury in practice at Phoenix.

The 51Fifty Energy Yamaha team stated in a press release earlier this week that they would fill one or both spots for the 2017 Oakland SX, but Mellross is listed on the entry list along with McConahy.
