Darryn Durham and Tyler Bereman are kindred spirits. The two grew up in small towns on opposite sides of the country (Durham in Pennsylvania and Bereman in California), with different racing backgrounds, tons of talent, and admiration of the golden era that was the 1990s. On any given day they are among the best riders in the world, capable of turning lap times comparable to the top racers and conquering obstacles alongside freeriding icons. Rather than lock their attention on just one type of riding, they decided to combine the best of both worlds by splitting their time between the racetrack and the local jump spot during the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series. The voyage was documented from start to finish by friend/filmer Mike Legrand, put on YouTube for the world to see, and was dubbed East Coast Is Toast. It was incredible and as the close of the year draws near, we felt like taking a look back at the entire series.
