The promoters of the famed Paris-Bercy-Lille Supercross event have announced huge changes to the long-running event for 2017, as it will return to the true heart of Paris with a new residency in the U Arena. For the last few years, the race has been moved to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the northern town of Lille, which is roughly an hour outside Paris, due to the refurbishment and new rules of the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy venue. The vibe of the event was much different than what was experienced in the tight confines of the Palais Omnisports and during our trip to the race in 2016, we heard rumbles that the race was moving back to the city. The news yesterday confirms the move and we’re sure there will be plenty more to come in the next few weeks.
The U Arena is a brand-new stadium that is still under construction. When completed, the stadium will be able to hold up to 40,000 spectators depending on the configuration of the event. The building is set to open in September, which means the 2017 Paris SX will be one of the first events to take place.
The 2017 Paris Supercross will take place on November 18th and 19th at the U Arena.
The most beautiful supercross world makes his glorious return to Paris! The 18 and 19 November 2017 at the U Arena (Nanterre – Paris La Defense).
It’s been exactly 33 years ago that a motorcycle has entered for the first time in the Palais Omnisports Paris Bercy, in March 1984. and it’s quite a performance that managed the supercross of Paris, by filling out first the pop ( Like no other sport has done) for thirty years and, more recently, the stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille.
And the story continues on 18 and 19 November, in a whole new room… the Parisian u arena, located in Nanterre – Paris La Defense! This pregnant ultra-modern will enable us to push the limits that were imposed up here at the supercross in our country, a historic opportunity very very exciting!
